Minty pants. That's all I wanted for Spring '11. Some fabulous light green pants. I searched in every shop nearby but nowhere to be found :( (Last month I tried some on @ Zara but I didn't like the fit...)
They were all over the fashion sites, especially in the US but sadly not in Belgium.
So cleaver Me was thinking, lets make my own pair of minty green pants :D
Yeah right... If it's an idea born in my head it's doomed to fail... Really.
I bought some dye from Dylon. There aren't so many colors available so they advised me some greenish blue turquoise whatever :) If I wanted the color to be very very light, they told me to put a lot of textile in my washing machine. If the tin was supposed to dye 400gr of clothing I could easily put in 1,5 kg to have the color I wanted. Me & guessing aren't best buddies but I gave it a go...
This is how my (once white) pants turned out to be:
Funny that the stitches stayed white :) Doesn't bother me but I'm just not that into the color. I haven't worn them yet & it's been over a year now since I dyed them...
This is the color that I wanted them to be! Yes, you see it very clearly! One year later, I have some minty green pants! Finally! Thank you H&M! Only for € 19,95 Again it was a struggle. The 1st one had a lot of stains on it so they gave me a washing guarantee. Once I got home I noticed there was a huge hole in it :(
But I'm lucky 'cause I chanced them today!
See the difference? :) I felt like crying when they came out of my washing machine ;)
Do you have some Mint green pants? Or did you already tried dying clothing?
