Mix 'n' Matching part IV

I think it’s obvious that I wouldn’t write multiple posts about combining all kind of prints if I wouldn’t be into it myself.

So I put together some of my OOTD instagram posts where I wear different patterns combined.

Looking at them I realise I should do more OOTD posts because I wear A LOT of prints mixed together but it seems i do not have that many proof ^_^

Last week I styled a very specific look to once again show you how easy it can be.

A blue and crème colored turtle neck mini dress is an interesting piece to start with.

Add an animal printed circle scarf et voila! Look 1 completed. Less boring right?

Tie a tartan shirt around your waist, très à la mode BTW ;) adds instant length if you don’t feel comfortable with wearing mini dresses.

Getting colder? Wear your shirt as you should, knot it at your waist. Add your scarf. 3 prints, 1 outfit. Easy!

Do you wear a lot of prints? If not, I hope you’re excited to try it out!

Mix ‘n’ Matching part III

Pinterest is the online place to be if you’re out of inspiration and ideas. You can wander that site for hours…

So here is some little fashion inspo for mixing all kind of prints.

Stripes, the ultimate basic piece to mix it all up.

So many options.

Tartan, stripes, leopard,… So beautiful!

But the picture above is my ultimate favorite since a very long time now! Perfect combo, such an amazing style…

Hope it gives you some ideas to take fashion to the next level! Enjoy!

Little disclaimer: none of the pictures above are mine so if one of them belongs to you, please let me know and I’ll either remove it or put your name on it.

Mix ‘n’ Matching Prints part II

Like I mentioned in my previous post, mixing prints is an art. And style is personal. You buy the fashion and you turn it into a style of your own.
Some care more about style than others. If you don’t know how or where to get started, stay around, I’ll teach you my tricks :)

I should start with the ultimate basics but I’m not in the mood. Right on to prints and patterns today!

So how do you add some interesting prints to your wardrobe?

Lets start with subdividing prints the easy way:

You could divide them in 10 categories or more but lets not complicate things :)

All of them can easily be combined but lets take it slow.

If you’re new at this, black and white is the key. They go with everything. So if you want to mix up patterns for the 1st time, choose a black and white print.

A striped tee is the perfect piece to experiment with.

To not feel uncomfortable you can built up the mixing.

• Some jeans, the most neutral piece there is, and some colored pumps. A 1st class basic outfit :)
• Now try to add some colored pants and a neutral pump. Makes the tee immediately that more interesting.
• To add another print, start small. Go back to your fav jeans and put on some leopard shoes. Impeccable right? :)
• Push a little further this time and exchange the jeans for a colored piece. Your outfit gets more and more daring!
• Get out of your comfort zone and mix 2 items of the same colors and look-a-like prints together. Some neutral accessories et voila!
• Now try again with a floral or animal print. Keep the accessories as inconspicuously as possible.
• Did I just say to keep the accessories minimal? Go all the way :) add some color!
• Almost there. Try to match 3 patterns but keep the color palette of 2 of them equal and also 2 out of the same category. In this case black and white and geometric.

Wasn’t that easy? ^_^

Ready to discover a whole lot of possibilities?

Excited to start Mix ‘n’ Matching?
I’ll show you some of my fav Pinterest pictures in my next post!

Have Fun!

Mix ‘n’ Matching, it’s an art

I love prints. And by preference mixing them. It’s an art to find a perfect combo :) And art is subjective. You like it or not. So is my style, you like it or not. I’m not the kind of a plain tee & jeans girl. Never will be :)

When it comes to prints & textures, I always turn to River Island. Huge fan!

When it comes down to fashion, there is one rule: There are no rules :) Ain’t that wonderful! ^_^

If you want to give it a try yourself, I’ll give you some step by step tips in my next post!

Heaven on Earth: Sephora Fiber Masks

They for sure ain’t new but I discovered them only recently.
The Sephora Fiber Masks.

Being on a super hot holiday in Spain, we went shopping in an air conditioned Shopping Mall. Of course I did some research before we went there and of course I knew there was a Sephora. My favorite beauty store. Wouldn’t wanna miss out on such an opportunity :)

Since I like to take care of my skin, especially during summer time, the Sephora Fiber Masks drew my attention.

8 colorful much promising face masks.

The sun can do a lot of damage so I wanted to try one of them. Rose Mask it was then!

Eager to try them out OBVS so once we arrived home that night, I immediately put the mask to test.

So, removing all make-up, opening the packaging, noticing the mask is almost dripping wet AND surprisingly very cold, I put it on my face…

OMG! This mask felt amazing! Dealing with a 28 C temperature in the bedroom it felt a gods gift! I climbed into bed to enjoy this refreshing mask even more… And I fell asleep. Just like that. Never happened to me before. Especially because it was that hot in our room. I woke up 1 or maybe 2 hours later, removed it and went immediately back to sleep. No rinsing or whatever, it felt great!

These are the instructions:

Should I mention that I went back the day after to buy some more?!?

1st one I tested was the Rose Mask. For me so far the best one. The Lotus wasn’t my favorite smell (of course not the most important fact) and the Honey Mask felt a little too sticky and again, the smell, not my favorite… But again, the ROSE MASK is heaven on earth! Even bought it for my best friend. Nothing but praising words… Refreshing, nourishing, ULTRA moisturizing,…

Underneath the promising results for only € 3.95

YES, you should try them out! :D

You can thank me later ;)

The Leather Issue part II Splurge vs Steal

(Faux) Leather is such a nice texture to add to your outfit. It makes it all that more interesting. Especially when it ain’t the most common piece, a leather jacket.

Wearing leather skirts, shorts and pants are a real challenge to some! I love wearing leather bottoms but I do not find many loving people in my inner circle…

There are so many versions out there! To start with faux and real leather.
I could present you all kind of types but lets stick to 1 particular item: jogger pants. My current favorite ^_^

If you’d like to try it out, I present to you:

Yep, many brands have them. From faux to real. Cheap to very expensive. Designer to Low street end.

My selection:

If you want to splurge, you can buy the real stuff at ASOS for € 398.10

If you wanna have a steal, my go to shop is H&M for € 24,99

Are you up for the challenge?

I certainly were again today!

To keep it kind of simple on a Monday, add some Hot PINK Stiletto’s and lips, sporty chic tee and a comfy flannel shirt. All black, white and grey…

Got a Sporty Spice compliment (?) and a “yep, we already thought so this weekend but now I’m sure! Iggy Azalea definitely looks like you! Ha! What a wonderful Monday morning that was…

The Leather Issue: From cAtwalk to cloZet

(Faux) Leather pants are amazing! I love wearing mine!

I already owned a black and brown one but I couldn’t help myself. I added this amazing pair to my collection last week ^_^

The day after I bought my new addition I was watching some NYFW collections. Turned out Marissa Webb had one walking down the catwalk!

The complete outfit is gorgeous. I’d wear mine with a crop top if the weather would allow it :) But Belgium ain’t that tropical…

So my lovely zebra sweater works just fine I believe!

From cAtwalk to cloZet ain’t that hard!

Fall Fashion is at our doorstep

Fall is getting closer. You can smell it in the air. But Summer is still around the corner :) You can still feel it!
Days are getting shorter but sun is still shining.
So don’t put away the summer dresses yet! Nor the skirts or shorts. Just wear a nice jacket or cardigan with it. Some socks, boots, a scarf.

I snooped around the ASOS website, there’s always way too many cute accessories and fashionable clothing. You could make an endless wish list!

But I managed not to be carried away. 9 obvious fall pieces.

1. A big gorgeous leather bag so you can carry a scarf or cardigan to keep you warm(er) at night.
2. A two piece with the most amazing wisteria print.
3. Some loafers with a Scottish print. They scream fall!
4. A darker thicker skirt. You can still wear it with sheer tops. Just add perhaps a hat and a knitted cardigan.
5. A nice floral watch!
6. A jumpsuit is always easy to style.
7. A jumper perfect to combine with a jeans short and black ankle boots!
8. That cardigan is WAUW! Also an easy to combine piece.
9. A houndstooth dress! Another typical fall print.

Love it? I know I do!

Nothing lasts forever...

But it is pretty awesome if you can prolong the existence of your manicure!

Fall might be right at our doorstep but I wont give up on summer yet. A bright ombré manicure it is then!
Or was. Because I had it last week. And it lasted me for a whole week…

I’m a Shop Manager. Which means I do rip open a lot of delivery boxes, I secure clothing with these mean security clips which I also happen to remove a lot off when clothing gets sold. And since clothing hangers make your hands really dirty, I wash them 10 times a day. The nasty air conditioning on the other hand is very drying so I apply a big amount of hand lotion.

All of the above as a side note ;) I think my nails look pretty awesome even after a week!

I adore matte nails. I prefer them. But after a couple of days they start to shine. So I thought to slightly give it up now and then.

As you can see on the pictures, it doesn't need a lot of explaining. My polish hardly chipped. I was really impressed. I’ll do another next week for sure! So O.P.I. Rapid Dry Top Coat will be my new secret nail weapon.

If you haven’t found a great topcoat yet, I suggest you try this one!

PS: Lesson of the day: Never go topless!

For some people Fashion Week lasts all year

4 letters that make all Fashionistas go insane! *Promise to myself: I’ll go once to NY when FW is BIG and happening!* You’ll probably smell it in the air so I–MUST–GO–THERE!!!

Now, it has begun a couple of days ago and off course there are already some Designers out there that makes my mouth water…

1st up:

1st outfit is my fav. High waisted pants + monochrome cut out crop top.
What’s not to love?

So looking forward to the H&M collab…

2nd up:

Thursday I bought some leather pants in H&M that look exactly like those in the 2nd picture so OBVS it is my fav outfit. I thought it was a nice coincidence when I saw these pictures Saturday.

3rd up:

Again, so difficult to choose 1 fav design. They are all so gorgeous. But I’d go with the 3rd. The details are so breathtaking 😍

4th up:

Women (almost) never shop because they NEED clothes but because they WANT clothes. How can we not long for all these amazing designer pieces? That last dress is so pretty!

5th and last one:

Middle one, bottom row for sure! That dress… Those colors… LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

So far 5 of my fav SS15 designers! There’ll be more to come of course!

Grey Tees are timeless

When I come to think about it, Grey Tees have been my favorites throughout the years. And lately, I really can’t get enough… What I noticed about my grey tee’s, the all have something to say :) grey graphic tees are the best!
Dress them down, dress them up. With a chic skirt for dinner or a jeans short for a festival.

You’re the boss, just go for it!

Here are 4 of the outfits I put together the past year.

Mine were from Forever 21, H&M and Zara.

Hope to give you some inspiration!
